While it is sound and valuable advice to hear health care experts remind us not to panic, with the recent outbreak at colleges and public schools it would be foolish to minimize the potential dangers of MRSA to students - our most valuable assets and our future. On a recent news broadcast, with cameras flashing and microphones in his face, a school administrator was asked by the ‘spokesperson’ for a visibly upset and concerned group of parents...
"We know you’ve told the students how to clean their hands and cover their cuts, and you bleached all the athletic equipment, locker rooms, and uniforms, but what are you doing on a daily basis to kill the MRSA bacteria?"
The administrator was literally speechless. In fact, the representative for a professional cleaning company who had just completed the washing process at a school’s athletic facilities was quoted as telling reporters, "You can clean all you want but you’re not going to get rid of the bacteria."
Ignorance is no excuse!
His answer was sincere but he was sincerely wrong.
